A Surprise

We had a raffle at the seminar. Every one that participated got a free ticket for being there. The ticket got the winner this showa.

Great event

Russel and Kari,

Thank you for sponsoring this event. This was the best learning opportunity for Koi Kichi to learn from a Japanese breeder and take a crack at judging fish. I was happy to see judges from all over the country flying in for the weekend.

I applaud you guys for promoting the hobby by increasing customer awareness.

Regards,

Sanjiv Kapoor

Mike, you can steal my thunder anytime! Always fun to be able to spend some time with you......

the drawing/raffle showa went to chuck and alice, members of the North Idaho Koi Keepers.

the guy in the red cap in the set up pictures is an impostor and not from the elete ZNA group. Word on the street has it that this rag-a-muffin shuffled in
from outside of Cali.....

this morning as i write this it seems things are slipping back more towards normal....yesterday my spirits were still high and feeding of the adrenilin
from the weekend. Gonna be a hard act to follow....

One of the silent contributors to this function and every function where toshio goes in America is his interpreter Agnes. Kind of an unsung heroine
really. As her knowledge on koi grows the better she gets. What I am always impressed with is her spirit and enthuisiasm. Sakai-san, his daughter Miwa and Agnes had the longest day/delays getting to the seminar friday, yet agnes had bounced back saturday morning with her ready smile and ready enthusiasm. thank-you Agnes, your a very special gift to the koi community

Of course, the guy in the red hat was our own Dick Benbow (for those of you who didn't know) LOL

Dick, as always, it was great swapping info and stories about the past present and future. I too can't remember when I enjoyed myself more at a koi related function (disclaimer to keep wife off my back)-LOL!!

I agree, Agnes is indeed a very energetic individual who enjoys this hobby as much as any one of us. Toshio has been bringing her along at her own individual pace and she is continuing her journey each year as she sends another new fish to the mud to see how it develops. It's kind of like Sakai-san's explanation of Nerikome - painting layers of paint to thicken the beni or sumi as it develops and matures. It must be flexible and so must we as we travel down the road of nishikigoi and struggle to keep up with the most recent developments in the land of the rising sun!
