Gene and I did not go to the seminar, for we must stay at home and keep our collective shoulders to the wheel while our lovely brides, Phyllis and Sharon, cavort with fellow seminar koi kichi a couple of states away! Our club, NIKK, was well represented with seven members attending, a true measurement of dedication to learn more.

Agnes is just a jewell, she has been instrumental in organizing many trips to Japan for fall harvest and educational activities. So it makes perfect sense she continues to carry a positive smile and wonderful ability in translating for those lucky enough to know her.

Back to Gene and I, of course we are envious of our brides, however from Sharon's post seminar notes, it sounds like she picked up on new information that I'm sure will be used upon her next purchase. Sakai-san is the best salesman ever, for once he demonstrates qualities of koi with his teaching you are not asked to purchase, you just want to.

Russ and Kari, thank you for "A"+ hospitality and keeping an eye on our brides. Kari, sounds like you have two new Pacific NW Koi Kichi friends in Phyllis and Sharon. They are looking forward to another visit with you in the near future.

Hi Dan,

We had a great time with Sharon and Phyllis and of course with the seminar.
I think PSKoi needs to come up to one of your meetings for an event this summer, what do you think?

Russ

I had a great time, especially with your lovely brides!! It is not very often that you find kichi girls that are so much fun. I can't wait 'til the next time.

The final component was to pick the Grand Champion of each size. I am going to show Mr. Sakai's results by showing his judging papers. You will notice that on some of the pages more than one Koi was listed as a possibility for that award. It was because some of the Koi were very close in quality. It was decided that if a participant had picked any one of those choices they got it correct. I am going to show the Koi for each page with the page. The Koi will be shown by variety and they should be numbered from left to right starting with number one. If there are six Kohaku the one on the left would be number one and the last one on the right of it would be number six. The first page is Tosai.

Great idea, our next NIKK meeting I will introduce an idea or two for a PS KOI visitation and possibly an event.

Sounds like I dodged a bullet with a great looking kohaku you had at the seminar. Sharon doesn't want me using any excuses for not completing her home and she knows making another koi purchase really loads me up with procrastination ammo!

Looking forward to our next visit, Portland will be our next show, end of July. I understand Erwin may have a guest bencher or wrangler dropping in this next next fall. I suppose she will want to show one of her babies while enjoying another great koi kichi good time!
