tree thoughts

When you go to your next bonsai class Steve, casually mention that you couldn't help noticing the thigmomorphogenetic response of the trees growing on your mountain. Should be a real crowd pleaser.

They must not do bonsai in Ireland. Your right Joe..it should have been dug-up by now.
Yes Tony, that is windswept and the "T" word is the name for the phenomena that causes this one sided lateral growth. It's the tree's response to repeated touching, wind in this case.

I've seen pots in earthquake country held in place by bungee cords. Always get a kick out of seeing the chosen security method of choice . Things are starting to open here in the northwest....my plums and what is surprising me the larches are opening with pinkish cones first....I have just one windswept,
it's a lebanese cedar and one of my favoites.
