For You Mr. Benbow

There were a few of your favorite blue fish. Here is a picture of the the Asagi that was best in Class. It was a size 5 (20-24") Asagi owned by Richard and Luann Porter. I am so sorry I did not take more pictures of the other blue fish but I did think of you.

Oh yeah

Don, as you saw on the thread over on "The Shack," the Porters were not going to take that Longfin Kujaku to the show but I twisted their arms . It was simply stunning! Any guesses to who and where it was bred? Oh, btw, it was awarded Best Longfin at CFKS.

A stunning fish.

First Guess: A domestic by Vance Shultz of Texas?

Second Guess: An import from Suda or Yamazaki?

Nope

Drum roll please........

That Longfin Kujaku was bred by Tom Hatfield (koistuff.com) and his associate in (wait for it) Piedmont Oklahoma, just NW of OKC. Tim told me this and my jaw dropped. After living inb OKC for 10 years and being kind of the borthplace for Cheryl and I in the koi hobby and we had absolutely no idea Tom had a koi farm out there. I would bet that the OKC club doesn't know it either!

By the way, that Asagi's head is snow white in actuality and the picture does not do it justice. Cheryl's camera leave a bit to be desired.
