Dainichi Koi Farm

I am moderating a "seminar" on Dainichi on another forum and J North gave me permission to ask questions here and use the answers on the other forum. Out of respect for Jim and Brian, I will not mention the name of the other forum.

I have noticed that there is not a lot of information about any of the breeders in any one place on the internet once you get past Kodama's site and the International Nishikigoi Promotion Center. I am going to be trying to compile information about all of the breeders over the next few months. If any of you know of any online resources or books that would be useful, I would appreciate your input.

Can anyone give me some biographical information about Minoru Mano? Also, what are his son's names and their respective responsibilities for the business?

Any information you could give me would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

I don't have anything to add but I do have a question. Once you compile the info where will it be posted?

I know it won't help you but there were full coverage reports/articles about him, his fish and Dainichi on many Japanese Koi magazines. Also, he was introduced on the documentary TV in Japan long time ago....
His sons name are Futoshi, Hiroshi, Shigeru and Hiroshi is in charge for the newly opened their branch at Toyota city, Aichi prefecture.

Dubtaco, this is something that ******* is doing, so that is where it will be posted.

Carl, do you feel the ******* members have the experience and combined knowledge to compile a comprehensive digest of the great breeders of the world? And also, as you are asking for help from other forums, will they be allowed to use what you put together on their sites, or will it be proprietary to ******* per their 'terms of service?'

Hi Newt,

Exactly....why would I help a forum where I'm not allowed to post. I have a feeling this is headed outside.....I'm really holding back here as I respect bito and its members.

My tongue is bleeding from biting it.

If you read the fine print at KP.anything that is on their site becomes their property.are you seriously thinking that others will lend a hand compiling a list that others will never be able to see? Lol......thats hysterical.

I didn't realize that Koi'F'en was a 'bad word' here on Bito, that was banned from being spoken at all. Good idea, in my mind. Just like 'Newt's' is a banned word on their forum. Fun and games in the koi hobby...what a sorry state of affairs!

Yes, why would anyone want to contribute to something being done by a forum that has done what it has in the past to KoiBito, and that has many of Bito's members banned for having a mind of their own. Takes a lot of ba**s to even ask for input here, in my opinion.

Thank you Super Kindai. I apologize for the disruption. I don't suppose you are aware of any English translations of any of those magazines?

Oh No...trouble in koiland again. This crap is so damn childish..it's annoying really. Grown people...in the same hobby, with the same interests and goals..can't even be civil. Just very embarassing for the whole hobby. It's funny how the fish get along better than the people who keep them

Carl, with all due respect, a suggestion in your search for Dainichi information...

I know for a fact that Art Lembke, J. P. Reilly, Steve Childers, Henry Culpepper and even Cheryl Childers could give you tons of information on this and others of the great Japanese breeders. Perhaps you should ask them directly, mate, you know...'in the interest of the hobby?'

Let us know what you find out, will ya?
