Oh I thought of him too, but your description of the way your lines bodies and beni develop had a very familiar ring to it Very nice work, and I think the "thick velvet" descripton given by others to your beni is very apt.

Mike & Auntiesue, thanks so much for sharing the pics. It was great to see you all and those fabulous Koi in Orlando. Mike, great work with the weather too.

Best Wishes,
Brady
We enjoyed meeting you as well altough it was brief I'm sure we'll run into each other again. We received our 1st 2 issues of KoiFixx and have watched them several times already and will continue to do so until the next issue arrives. I hope you got some good intereviews with the Orlando Judges. Sorry we didn't find time to talk more!!

As I was watching this thread develop, the information I wanted to know was
when the photo was taken. In later posting we learned that it was taken at harvest. That told me all I needed to know. When a fish is in growth mode you have expansion to keep up with. Better to assess a koi's condition after it settles down and catches up in the winter.

Just the same as when a question about water comes up, I have an immediate knee jerk response. What are the pond water readings and the source water readings......this tells me what is going on

What do you think of this fish, knee jerk , when was the photo taken?

I think we're pretty fortunate to have some pretty moxy domestic breeders available to us.

as Gail says...Carrie "you lucky duck"....

I`m very happy to own this koi! I saw her bowled on the Koifixx DVD yesterday.
Brady has been a saint helping pick out koi this year. I have also learned so much from reading his posts and all the others on this thread.

Hi Brady, If you remembered I had used your article on Hi development for our Koi show magazine. Just to say Thanks again.

The info on development of scalloped hi patch is an eye opener. We are advised to avoid kois with such kind of Hi patch as they will never close up. If you will take a minute to look at the 3 year old sanke I posted. http://koi-bito.com/forum/attachment...7&d=1174492319 There is a Hi patch which look similar to the one here. Will mine turn out just as well?
Your critique on my Sanke is much appreciated as well.

Can you elaborate on this fatty skin. How do we determine that the skin on a nisai is of fatty skin?

TQ

Hi TQ,

I wasn't able to see the pic of your Sanke through the link. Can you post it here?

Best Wishes,
Brady

Hi TQ,

I am still not able to see the links you posted for some reason. Is it the Sakai 75 cm Sanke you posted a few days ago? If so, and if the age is actually 3 years I believe your hi plate will improve even more, in fact the hi plate looks good most everywhere already.

Best Wishes,
Brady
