Back from Gardena Koi Show...

I spent virtually the entire day at the ZNA Koi Show in Gardena, California. The show doesn't technically start until tomorrow, Saturday, 3/24; but that didn't stop me from having a great time and finally getting a chance to meet some of the fellow Koi fanatics I've come to know online over the past 3 - 4 years. It is definitely nice to finally be able to put a few faces with the names I've come to know since venturing into this crazy hobby - including SimiKoi, Aquitori, Gary R, Carlos, Janem, KoiDoc, Russell Peterson, among several others. In addition to my two Marusei chagois, which were delivered to the show by Kevin Pham at Genki Koi, I also wound up adding an additional five Koi to my herd; including a nice sanke and my first yamibuki ogon from Joe at Jungle Exotics, a white matsuba from my good friend Ken at Barstow Koi Farm, and a gorgeous kawarimono from SemiKoi. My new additions are pictured in the thumbnails below. Larger photos, along with several other pics taken at the show are available on my site. Thanks again to everyone who came up to say "hello" at the show. You guys are awesome!

Tonio, Russell, Nancy, Art, John (XMan) anybody else I can call on, who'll be there-

Please let Joseph know that fish do not herd and a group of fish is not a herd. I know he would get over this terminology on his own, with time, but maybe someone could help and nudge him.

Have a blast, Joseph, duck if Gabriella swings a koi net at you, and we'll wait for pics.

Thanks for sharing Joseph....

Mitten, other NorCal Grant Fujita, Mike P., Shawn, and Dr. David T are also there. Heard of Duke N. will be there as well....

I like the other means of herd... Here is from Online Dic.:
"2 a (1) : a group of people usually having a common bond <a herd of
tourists> (2) : a large assemblage of like things b : the undistinguished
masses : CROWD <isolate the individual prophets from the herd -- Norman
Cousins>"

Dinh, after reading this I am assuming you had too much time on your hands.LOL

Yes, Duke did make it to the show. He said that there was too many quality fish coming to the show, so he could not miss it.

In all seriousness, I use the term "herd" loosely to describe my beloved Koi. I know fully well that, technically speaking, a group of Koi are not called a herd...
