Large Hoshikin Kohaku!

After we finished I asked if we could see some Nisai and Sansai, not to buy, but just because I wanted to see what the sizes of his Nisai and Sansai were.
His Nisai are 60cm to 65cm and his Sansai - OMG!!!!!!!!!

If you are interested, the Nisai I photographed in the large net start at $10,000.

Yes, we were all shocked that they were not Sansai and Yonsai. Very good quality.

Thanks for the Memories!!!

Russ - you're sending some great photos. Our thanks for reminding us of the wondrous koi Toshio Sakai produces - from pond to pond they just seem to get better and better.

We've made two trips and have a pond overflowing with beautiful babies - now I'm an admitted koi-aholic!!!

Well, looks like your wish came true. Hoshikin has some absolutely amazing fish. I didn't realize he could get nisai and sansai to grow to those sizes. Sure does bust the myth about Niigata growers versus Southern Japan when it comes to growth! Looking forward to seeing what you're bringing back this trip. Looks like you hit the big time!!

Ojiya Day3

It is 8:00am and we are getting ready to go. I don't know if I will have much to do today. I have 20 boxes of Koi in Isawa and 48 in Ojiya. I have exceeded the number of Koi in my permit so it will have to be two shipments. I don't think that there is anything more I need to buy.

We'll see what happens...........

I think what I will do to keep it simple is have the Isawa Koi arrive first and then send for the Niigata Koi on a seperate permit. I hope for the first shipment in two to three weeks and the second in four to five weeks.

We will post information on Koi-Bito and our website when we know.

P.S. I added more Koi today.
