Like Chinese red, there are many concepts of what persimmon really is.
These samples are scarlet...persimmon...crimson....burnt orange.

Now cherry red is all over the place in color value and interpretation.

The red type of hi I have found breaks down faster compated to the orange type . The red type is better for pet fish because it looks finished a lot sooner . On the fish from Toshio which I have it has taken 4 years before the hi started to look good . So a lot depends on ones tastes for instant gratification and earlier loss or long term . In Canada nearly all fish are killed within year or two because of unsuitable overwintering ponds and the bright red hi is favoured .
Regards
Eugene

good job mr Kingkong, the one second from left. reason: it shines under the water with a bright orange in it.
