If I had to pick just one it would be Toshio Sakai in Japan. What they've been doing with gosanke makes me drool.
Picking an American breeder would be a tougher call. Richard, Matt, and Brady, have each been doing great things independently of each other and it would take more pondering for me to pick.

Larry, My female asagi was bred by him. It has magoi bloodline in it. Toshio breeds lots of fish that few seem to be aware of that are non gosanke. Shiro's, koromo/goshiki, shusui, kujacku....most would be amazed. But hey, you got that right about him being first choice. I saw some sanke on Russ's post that I would have dearly loved to have been able to email him and have him bring them home.....I think everyone knows by now that I'm a pretty big Mat fan, in fact his dad chides me about being his son's fan club President. Oh well I could be accused of worse! LOL

Speaking of Torazo, he and Marudo are both famous for their Sanke but both are spending a considerable amount more time on Kohaku and Showa. Torazo even more so.
