Not much change this time, but these camera angles emphasize how the darker scalation is above the lateral line... similar to some lines of Goshiki. Some of the scales with dark coloration are about 50-50. Others vary. She will be more attractive if uniformity in coloration develops. Curious genetics.
This really does have some very primitive aspects to it. The dark scales are well confined above the lateral line, but scale coloration and size are all over the map. The irregularity of the scales almost makes me think of old fashioned "shoe peg" corn. Not really in regular rows.
16 inches or so. I should get a heavy ruler to set in the bucket for you to see. She outgrew most everything in my pond this year.
I know what you mean about the scales Papabear. They sell that corn here in Quincy, and you're right....kernals are all different sizes.....good corn though!
I think she may darken in the winter as the colors tighten some.
