For openers, Showa and Shiro Utsuri have had the most improvement. Next I would say are Goshiki/Goromo. There are some metallics that come to mind but not at the top of the list

I agree with Mike that the #1 emphasis the last decade has been sumi improvement in the kindai showa.....and now that Toshio has developed a marusome red and black on his showa you have a crowning moment. If you ask Russ he'll tell you that's why he's bringing so many nice examples back
for his customers.
