A few OKC pictures.....

Well it was a very nice and exciting weekend. Some really impressive koi I must say.
1st thanks to Jesus, Larry (PapaBear), Ken, Harry, Michael, and the Down’s and the rest of the member from OKC koi club who I did not write your names down………
It was a first class show, except having to try and take pictures of koi with big ole lights above, which ruined many a reasonable picture!

I arrived at a little after 12o PM on Friday and first got to meet Scott and Jan (JanT) Thompson. These are some great folks who drove all the way from Colorado. They did manage to take a few awards back with them too.

Let me post a few pictures of some fish so I can go to bed and not feel guilty. I am going to copy and paste this on to two boards some of you may not know who I am talking about if your not on that board….sorry.

This was my personal favorite owned by Mac M. a south east Texas boy.

Next is another on which I liked very well too, owned by Michael K. of OKC.

This is a real nice one of tow owned by Jesus B. from OKC. Told you I got a decent picture of her!!!

Next is a killer Showa owned by Chuck D. of OKC.

This was the Grand Champion Owned by Dan & Gene…….

The lobbist......

Jan T. one half of a real hoot!!!! This is so much better than the other picture. Good thing I can take a reasonable picture of fish..........huh.

Why this man is not dead we cannot figure out (but we came to the conclusion Jan is one darn good woman!!!)

You can say that again. I haven't had a chance to check our pictures out yet as the weather went to pot around here and had to shut down the 'puter, but I'll try to add some to the mix as I can.
It really was fun to meet a lot of folks AND some of their fish.
Jan ans Scott really are a hoot. OK, maybe Scott qualifies as a triple hoot.

It may not be the biggest show in the nation, but it sure has some of the best koi, consistently, each and every year. And you just can't beat the hospitality of the OKC folks - hands down the nicest people you could spend a weekend with! Thanks all - I had a blast, as usual!

Gret pics!! I knew i should have driven over but I chickened out due to the weather. I would have add to add 1000 lbs of sand ballast to the vehicle just to have a chance of safely driving in from the west across Tornado Alley.

It would always be a pleasure to see fish from Dan and Gene upclose and not Just in the Koi USA mag pics.

Excellent pic of the Soragoi. You just gotta love the suede look. I have a beautiful female Ginrin Shimofuri Utsuri (Soragoi with black utsuri stripes) and she always sends me to check out the other soragoi around the world.

A few more pics...

I know there are some SERIOUS lovers of Bonsai around here, so I had to toss in a few pics of some Okie renditions.
The first is just a nicely sculpted tree by the fairgrounds entrance, but the other two are the real deal, owned by OKKS Officer Harry Greer. The third one was recently re-worked for Harry by Marco Invernizzi

Thanks for getting some pix up -- can't wait to see more once you get settled a bit.
