The Maruyama Showa seem to take a while to look their best. The bodies have a stout, strong structure, not a graceful Kohaku-like body.

See any similarities in mine?

I think this is one of those cases where you buy it for the hi and roll the dice on the sumi. If it all comes up it will be a very nice showa. We all know the maruyama and dainichi GC showa were in this boat as well when they were young.

I think the bone structure looks very good for this stage. The pattern will still fun to watch as this fish grows. Now it's just a waiting game. What's Micky's quote... "showa is for dreamers". This should be a fun one to dream on.

This showa look pretty good. I wouldnt say this Showa has a stout body, but more on the GoSanke line. It is hard to find a Showa with conformation close to GoSanke, so to have choosen one with good body lines is great. Maruyama produces limited number of Showa every year, so to have one is nice. So study it and see if this Showa comes close to your future prediction.

Yes, almost all kiwa are Maruzome....but cycled area on the sholuder is Kamisori /or Hanzome-Giwa so far.

"Kiwa on both side" means not on the back...sorry. I marked it by yellow lines. check check!!
