It sure looks as if every one including the teacher was having a grand time. Great pictures.

Very nice.

Koi and kids -- they do transcend countries and cultures, don't they?

I'm wondering how many of us were exposed to fish and ponds at an early age. One of my early memories (had to be less than 6 because my maternal grandmother was present) was having minnows in a bucket ... bait fish left after a day fishing. The fish died. At some point my grandmother took me downtown on a bus to a pet shop where I got two goldfish in a paper carton with a metal handle. (No plastic bag.) They went in a goldfish bowl. I don't think I was long without fish around until I went off to college.

There's a future koikeeper in that photo...

i was and am still young and looking at fish...i think for the younger peoples it is harder to appreciate fish...but if you knew me or my family we have had fish tanks ect forever and didnt get into koi until we moved into a house with a koi pond...and it was like BANG! we totally fell in love...i guess it depends on the situation

I was exposed to fish at a young age and I think it definitely laid the groundwork in koi for me.

ChinaDNA: People in China flash the "peace" sign when taking photos? They've done the same thing here in Japan for as long as I can remember.

Either way, very cute little children and glad to see them being exposed at an early age!
