Maruyama Tosai

Hi,

I am considering to take over these Maruyama Kohaku.

What do you think about them? They are all between 30-38 cm tosai.

Thanks for your comments

I went back and checked your first post -- koi dealer and broker in Indonesia, yes?

I think that's a nice lot of Maruyama pieces for you to take over.

Good Luck,

welcome to the board, Mr Svenni, it is a great honor for this forum to have a deep pocket like you to visit us, and even a greater one when you ask us opinion. We are obligated to give you a fast answer: All koi look great, in a scale of 10, they can easily get an 8 or more. However before reaching to your pocket, please zoom up koi number 24. look closely at his head, you will see an unusual kiwai: a lighter red cover all around the contour of the darker red. I do not say it been photoshopped, but if i am you, mr Svenni, i will look at the real fish before making any decision. Thanks for asking us, and it's been a pleasure to see all the great fish you brought to us.

Hi,

yes I have a shop in Jakarta. As we regularly get new fishes we can share some to be viewed by others also.

Thanks for the comments

In March 2005 the ZNA Southern Koi Association made a group purchase of Maruyama 10" +/- tosai Kohaku. A couple turned out quite well. What stood out to me was the variability of Hi quality and type, and variability in growth. There were at least three different types of Hi in a batch of over 20 tosai. One of our members got one that has grown moderately, has excellent Beni and has cleaned up on best in size awards at several shows. I was not as fortunate on the quality scale, but got a female who has grown fast and large. She is now around 28", and still growing. I am expecting her to challenge for largest in my pond by October. Right now she is just 4" shorter. She developed a couple of shimmies, which have now expanded to the point that she would likely be benched as a Sanke... a poor Sanke. LOL. Enjoy the Maruyama.
