Koi shows are a kick to me...I like it when it is a hobbyist first show and then they experience it and get it under their wings...I just sit back and watch the learning process begin. Shows dont mean so much for me but watching a newbie win is all I can ask for.

Stan . . .

Whoa! Where did this come from and why? I found JR's post to be both amusing and supportive. And I certainly don't think it called for these harsh words.

There are quite a few 'gods' in this hobby. They can't stand other having a different opinion. In the process, they lost their sight on what koi hobby is truely for. Many of these gods are hopelessly sicken. JR is the only one that has some chance of being cured. Given his knowledge and status in his hobby, he could have calm jeff down right at th on-set, instead of telling jeff that he is running out of foot.

Stan . . .

In your post #60 you quoted JR's post to Aquitori, and that's the one I responded to -- but now you're talking about Jeff?

And as for JR's posts to Jeff, maybe they have both history and issues between them that you and I know nothing about?

Sorry, I just wanted to quote JR's hand clapping from that post. I will edit that post. I stand corrected.

Just home from a long day at the donut factory. Stan? I see I've upset you again? What do you think " the sound of one hand clapping" means? I think you have misunderstood?
JR, Koi god today, gone tomorrow.

Bottom line:
1. Lots of work to do English style.
2. Hard to view fish for best to worst.
3. No judging comment during show.
4. 6-8 hours before any results are known.
5. Not much fun for anyone.

Mark . . .

Like it or not, the real bottom line is that an English-style show is better than no show at all.

IMHO, of course.
