Ochiba Shigure- Good or Bad?

I'm sure many of you may have seen this koi before.
I just entered it into another forums virtual koi show. Not sure if its going to do any good, but thought it might be better to gain some experience on how a koi show might be ran.
I didnt have a blue container so I made the background blue, hopefully the other forum will let it pass, but I will understand if It does not suffice.
Please be as harsh if need be.

Current size is around 16 inches. Breeder: Unknown.

please forgive the bubble.

Thank you everyone.

it just lacks pattern. nice body shape, nice big pecs. Bet it's a friendly koi. I got my first one this spring from Nisei koi farm in new jersey. I think the hardest thing to do is to find a ochiba with a good pattern.

hey if you don't enter a show, you'll never be able to tell how you would have done!

I always enjoy seeing what your up to!

Thank you dick. It was really a pleasure seeing you in the bay area last Feb.!

Yes, the ochiba is really friendly.... leader of the pack.
Got it at tsekoi about 2 years ago, have no idea if its of japanese decent or domestic.

I bet there is really no chance of it developing any more pattern, been a couple years (2) and no real change.

Hi Eric. Nice to see you posting again.

As far as your fish, it's barely an ochiba, but it has a few nice qualities about it. The scalation is clean and personally, I prefer the root beer color of chagoi to the lighter green shades. Good luck in the judging on the other board.

I've got to agree with Dick and Mike. The scales look great, but the pattern is barely there... Still a good looking fish and maybe it'll set a good example for the rest with the nice friendly attitude

hi Eric, good to see you again, we all miss you. Even at your age, you have show how to handle adversity with class. As far as the fish, you are not, it's a chagoi to me (pardon me if i am wrong) . Thanks for posting, do not go anywhere, brother Eric, just stay with us.

Ito Koi farm??

if you bought it from tsekoi in san jose, then it's most likely bred by Ito koi farm. I was told that tsekoi only have fish from Ito koi farm.

Hmm, ito koi farm.
That should give me a chance to see other ochibas.
I purchased the koi in the 35 dollar tank, was about 8 or 9 inches at the time. so far I am pretty satisfied with him/her. guessing its a him from the length of the fish.

thanks steve,
honestly had no idea it was/could be from ito. I assumed it was domestic.
