New Shiro and Showa

These two tosai are now in my pond. Shiro is 35cm from Omosako, Showa is 35cm from Marudo. I really like the shiro, the sumi is incredible. Showa, well showa will be showa and we shall see...
What do you think? Sorry for the poor pic of the showa but she just would not be still.

Omosako said female. If you study the breeders line you will find that yellow head does not always indicate male. The shiro is a tosai and I hope at 15 inch allready its not a male. The pecs also does not say male, but hey, can we ever be certain....

I got two jumbo tosai from Omosako from the same spawning. This is the other one. The head also has a taint of yellow but a little less. Note the difference in sumi though. I took both to study how they develop.

Check my webpage in my sig. Then go to my koi and then utsuris. You can see one of my Omosako female shiros from tosai the nisai. The yellow goes away usually on Omosako female shiros at least.

Erns I like them both but of course I'm partial to shiros. I look forward to updated pictures of both of these in the future.

The next time I'll take pics will be in October. We are in winter now but the coldest the water gets is 16 degrees celcius so I should still ge some growth into them by then.

Hey, I still want to start a thread called 'show me your pond' to get a better idea of what members ponds look like and what the filtration looks like, do you think it's a good idea or will I be the only one posting pics of my setup?!
