You are way over stock on koi population. How do you clean the filter with all of those lava rock?
I start out with 250 gal container of lava rock as my biofilter but then it crashed one day and most of my koi had problem, it was impossible to keep the muck out of that filter no matter how often I clean it, I ended up convert the container into a moving bed filter with K1 media.
Do you have a SC before the pump?
I'm also using the ultima II with sequence 1/4 hp pump but mainly for mechanical purpose, it draws clean water from the 150 gal vortex, feeds the ultima II then the moving bed filter, with daily small water change (backwash and dumping the vortex) the koi are doing great. My pond is close to 5000 gal and only have 6 koi 9-20".

Blehm,

Thanks for taking the time to add some info to your profile. As an old fella who very recently went about learning to type I know that tapping out the words can take some time. Adding punctuation and capitalization will help you communicate better here though. Also, maybe you could give us an idea of your general location in your profile. Where you live matters, (Hi Dinh!) and affects the outcomes of different pond keeping regimes.

It seems like you have no question but are maybe saying "Hey, I got this pond to work this way. Am I missing something?" Well, there are a couple of things that could be troublesome, but sometimes "If it ain't broke...don't break it." If you are looking for ways to elevate your pond's functions, you can read many great stories here. You might as well build a world class koi pond and get some beautiful big fish. What else could be a more important endeavor?

In most places of the world koi would not survive under such conditions if it works for you it is great but hopefully new people do not read this or pay any attention .If you plan to get a better grade of fish I would rebuild your pond first . During the summers in Canada they would die because the water would get too hot during the winter it could become solid ice . In fact it is a big busines here selling new fish every year as well as medications because people heard of koi living in such ponds .
Regards
Eugene
