Worth it to show? Inazuma Kohaku

I think some of you have seen this kohaku before. I have been very excited in its development. I have heard it has a "Big Kohaku Pattern" from some of you.
Koi was purchased from Pskoi last september.

Sorry for the picture, I have better ones at my house. I will try to get them as soon as possible, but in the mean time..can anyone give a vague Judgement please?

There the koi is about 6 inches, not its about an inch bigger in my new pond.

Once again, sorry for the bad picture.

Menkaburi Kohak in size 2 really dont do well, but depending on the competition it might. At size 1 & 2 judges are looking for "cute" nice pattern fish. Conformation isnt the primary thing at this size barring it has major conformation issues.

Not really an expert, but I think the ideal split for a kohaku between red and white is about 70/30. A little too little shiroji on this fish, perhaps? Plus it's menkaburi..

I am guessing menkaburi has something to do with the face.
Is menkaburi describing the all red face? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Menkaburi: A red Hood on the head that travels from below and behind the head often extending to the mouth.

Yes, face is masked in red up to the mouth part..

It'll be better to evaluate when you get the other pictures posted, but why not take it out for a test drive at the show? While the big fish pattern may not be a winner in its size class, it may be in the running for a Tategoi award. Small fish with big patterns are "future fish".

You have a big fish pattern on a small fish now if it was 16in it would be a diffrent story . A show is a good idea so you can judge for yourself where you are in comparison to others

Eric . . .

I'd be happy to give you the 'vague Judgement' you've asked for:

1. An adult would have waited to get home to get a better picture before posting.
2. An adult would not have posted the azz end of a 7" koi and asked for evaluations re: show potential.
3. Trying to evaluate this pic of this koi for show potential is a complete waste of time.

But then, with 3,500 posts on three koi boards you should've known what the judgement would be -- shouldn't you?

it looks ok and a fairly decent body so i dont think you would be laughed at, and if you dont win anything you may learn something from being there!
