I thought it was illegal to import Koi there, so shouldn't all the koi in the shows then be domestic (including the GC)? or are there still legacy holdovers from before the law?

Ahhh, I see. But that doesn't make much sense? We are talking about Japanese koi dominating Major koi shows world wide. If Japanese koi are not allowed to compete, how is that an example of domestics winning over the Japanese import? Nice try! LOls ( I took my dollar on a hike with me today) JR

I'm afraid liberating JR's dollar will take beating "Japanese" Koi in head to head competition. A "Domestics Only" show hardly qualifies... It is unfortunate for our Aussie Koi Brethren that they can't import. I know that they've come far in breeding decent Koi from their own limited genepool, but they sure would like to get their hands on some fresh high quality stock to breed and show...
