Koi shows of the world; how many?

How many koi shows take place in the world in a given year? And how many are in each country? ( someone alert my fellow historian Ray Jordan!) JR

Just tyring to count the ones in Japan would be quite a undertaking.

ZNA: Local, Chapter, District, Nationals

Shinkokai: All Japan COmbined and All Japan Young plus quite a few other regional shows

Ryunkai: All Japan plus several other regional

Breeder shows: at least one and many have multiple for most prefectures. Also many local breeder shows in Niigata area. Almost every agricultural event also has a koi show. Such as the peach festival in Isawa.

Dealer shows: most major dealers also host a show for their customers

the number has to be way over 100 and likely over 200 shows just in Japan. Since most shows are held in the fall and also some in the spring weekends are packed. Many are one day shows for this reason.

JR, I just learned there is a major breeder koi show in Niigata on the Sunday of the same weekend as the ZNA AJS in Ojita. Now that would be a fun two-fer to attend in November.
