Male GC at the Shinkoikai all Japan Koi show.

She won the 2003 Shinkokai AJS GC at 88cm and 6 yeears of age. owned by Masamitsu Hayakawa and bred by Sakai Fish farm in Hiroshima. Also received the top award in 2004 at the Shinkokai KHV summit or whatever it was called. The ZNA and the Shinkokai shows were cancelled that winter because of KHV occurances in many parts of Japan. I think she might have won a top award in 2003 (oops meant to say 2002) as well but would have to check my database.

Martha & I saw her in person at AJS in 2003. Very impressive and well deserving of top award.

Offspring of Benibana, she was Superior Champion at the 2000 31st Rinyukai All Japan Koi Show, GC at 2001 32nd Rinyukai All Japan Koi Show, Superior Champion in 2002 34th AJKS and GC at 2003 35th AJKS.

Ray got it--- almost!! LOls. I took this picture the year BEFORE this fish won, Jan. 2002. It won the grand prize in the kyogoi ( Big Carp) selection that year ( AJS 34,2002). This re-enforces the idea that jumbo and big caro awards are to go to the BEST large fish in the show, not the longest or fattest!
