JR, your comment brings to mind a sad experience I had last year with two 10" tosai. Within a week of being out of quarantine, they came down with "something" that I'd guess was an internal bacterial infection. Although languishing, trying to catch them for close observation was impossible. They would dive to the bottom. One was lost within a few days. The other came through... and is now around 24". I never did figure out what it was for certain. (There was some gill damage on the one that died, and a pinkish hue in the abdominal area, making me think it was bacterial.) Tosai can be quite delicate and susceptible.
I'm curious regarding the medication used in this instance, because it might come in handy. I enjoy tosai too much.
