I am not comfortable saying very much, particularly about price. The photo certainly makes it seem to be a very nice Kohaku. I expect it is relatively costly. The pattern is classic, except for the thin red line along the upper lip area. I notice a peculiarity on the face, just below the Hi. There seems to an area that does not have the Shiroji of the rest of the fish. I cannot tell why. Looks as if there is a "cavity" in the skin. There are two specks of Hi in the area. I would want to see this in person. Perhaps there was an injury, or perhaps a surgical removal of something? Or, maybe it is a flaw in the photography? This causes concern, especially if the fish is as expensive as I suspect. ...It is always easier to emphasize imperfections in a photo rather than strong points, perhaps because we learn not to trust photos?

Simple 3 step Kohak. Sashi is okay, Kiwa not very good. Body is and bone structure is good. Price is hard to say.....Who is the breeder?

the breeder is sakai..and certified
speaking about certificate, how do we know it's original?
can we ask the breeder about that?
I concern about the shoulder that I think not high enough, what do you think?
how about the gender?
(she?)is about 50 cm now..

Looks like air bubbles on the surface of the water to me.

No way. Nice thick beni with hoshi, even though the photo looks manipulated to enhance the red.

I think it is a beautiful female kohaku, nice old fashioned patern, good Ozutsu and nice body. Saying something about the skin I never do from a photo, that's not possible in my idea. It is always different than the koi in real.
One point it is not a large nisai, 50 cm for a nisai from SFF is not very large.....She has a certificate, what is her bloodline?

We have 4 koi with certificates from SFF and we believe that they are the originals.....I think that you have to trust your dealer
It's very difficult to say something about the price without seeing this koi in the flesh....but the overal look of this koi is very good.

Did you purschassed this koi or are you thinking about it?

what is the size of nisai can be classified as big ?
if i'm not wrong she is about 18 months old..is it big enough?
about certificate, I think the world class breeder such as sakai should maintain their popularity by keeping their quality.
So in order not to get people have misunderstanding cause fooled by someone sell certified koi, breeder should have security system about their certification process.
It doesn't mean I don't believe the dealer.

I already bought her, glad you said she has good body cause I concern about the shoulder not high enough
I forget the bloodline but don't you think every certified koi from sakai has jumbo parent ( certified=good bloodline)?

I have misunderstood you with the trust in the dealer, maybe is put my english words not in the right order,I'm a dutch girl, so english is not my main language. I appoligayse for that. Two years ago they sold tosai Momotaro koi in Holland with certificates handmade in Holland Thats the reason is think that about your question from the certificates!

In november 2005 we bought a nisai Sanke SFF, without a certificate, from the Open Sales, no certificate, she was then 18 months and 58 cm long. She is from the Shobu bloodline. She was in april 2007 68 cm. A very quick grower.
4 weeks ago we bought a nisai Sanke SFF, with certificate, 24 months 61 cm. She is from Akizakura bloodline.
For me that are large nisai, don't you think..
But we have also a smaller nisai showa SFF, see photo from certificate, she was in april 2007, 20 months and was then 50 cm. A huge difference from the above 2 Sanke, don't you think
I think certainly the shoulder is high enough from your Kohaku, she has enough ability, to suprise you in the future, I'm sure about that .

On your certificate is the name from the mother and the month of spawning, and every certificied koi comes from a mother that is sure 80+ cm, all koi from the auction has a certificate. But afcourse you can buy certifcied koi all year round by SFF. But only when they are from a good bloodline, and they are worth a certificate.

Fukarin
