Looking for a great Kohaku. Please advise if you have seen one you liked for sale.

I saw one in the Nishikigoi Monthly but they are asking $35,000 for it...Narita is the dealer.

Didnt you have a nice Kohak that you bought from Genki and sell it? That Hoshikin was pretty nice from what I remember.

that hoshi with Genki was very good. I just did not get to have good look at the beni as the koi was in QT, water was blue-ish, and Kevin was not keen at netting it. Otherwise, good frame+big body, good pattern for big koi.

Yes, she was very nice, above my budget but very nice. My budget is $4,000 for this next Kohaku.

Guess if I was spending that much I would want to see the koi first hand, or get the opinion of someone who has seen a particular koi. Being that I'm in Utah and have no access to nice koi other than the internet, I think I'll just wait and see what you end up with. Good luck searching!

Farne

Sounds like you have the same "itis" a lot of us fellow hobbyists have - A champagne appetite and a beer pocket book - LOL!!! As your level within this hobby grows, so does your appetite for high quality fish. I do have a suggestion that may work for you as it is one I am trying to currently employ. Buy a nisai or sansai and leave it for a season and then bring it home. If all goes well, you CAN get a return on your investment, even if only on a personal level of enjoyment.

Best of Luck and Happy Koi Hunting

Mike
