I would agree that the face seems a bit pinched to me as well but the other side of the coin is nice red,white and black, and it has matsunosuke GIN!

The Sanke is from Sakuma. This Sanke has won 2 first places at the All-Japan Rinyukai Show 2 years straight. The Sanke has very good quality and a Sanke of this quality not pattern would cost you around $50K easily at Momotaro.

It must have had a smaller body that fit the head when it won, that was then and this is now. Now the conformation is not good for a larger Koi. So the quality takes a back seat. A small pointy head on a large Koi is not going to win anything. Her glory days are over.
