While the first site isn't much better than eBay, the second one is a reputable dealer.

As far as recommendations, I wholeheartedly agree with dt -- check out our sponsers' ad banners.

From Northern to Southern California we probably have the most dealers in the US...By the way what location are you from? Maybe you can visit a dealer close to you so you can see some fish.

From eastern PA it is not too much of a trip to visit Nisei Koi Farm in NJ. Not sure where you are, but NKF is about 45 minutes from Philadelphia airport even with some traffic. All price ranges. If I was anywhere near, I'd spend as many Saturdays as I could checking things out and just observing how the farm is run.
Quality Koi .

we purchase from

Genikigoi (Kevin)
Keirin (Carl)
Nishikigoi of Niigati (Ray)
Pan Intercorp (Joel)

We only purchase a koi from a photo when we discuss it with someone we know VERY well. Ideally you go see the koi in the flesh or the dealer brings it to you (perhaps at a show).
