I benched all day friday and wrangled till judging was over and then drove the 4 hrs back home to take care of my koi and bonsai.....sorry no time for pictures. the koi and independant goldfish show had about the same amount of entrees. The goldfish was up and koi down.....quality good tho. The GC from Carolyn in san diego and reserve from spokane and the olson's, Dan and Sharon ( beautiful skinned sanke). Was great contest.
Russ Peters and better half (bedecked in fashionable straw hat) kept busy selling fish. The baby grand was an Ogata kohaku bought from Eastern the afternoon before the show.
Weather was cooler and more livable than usual so that was nice.
Very good bunch of judges. What was kinda neat was the head goldfish judge was shadowed by the wife of one of the koi judges and vice versa, the the goldfish show had his wife judging koi.
back gave out on me friday night from benching all day ( getting olde I'm afraid) Saturday had the best help in wrangling...soon as judging was over jumped in the car for the long trip to seattle and my koi and bonsai.
Larry Gill, one of the judges hand carried a chinese quince bonsai on the plane to surprise me with so it made my day. Good show, lots of fun....

Great host and supporter's.....Portland has a great club of really great members...always a joy....I look forward to it for so long and then bingo...it;s over
