next NW show

is next weekend in Puyallup, washington ( near Tacoma) on the grounds of host Hoshi Koi. It's a young fish show, under 100 fish and great place to visit and socialize. Know that you'd be welcome. I'll wear my dark blue shirt with name and embroidered Showa of mine and be either gabbing or benching....
stop and say HI....

I bred a reserve GC!

The Puget Sound Koi show had 72 entrants and GC went to a beautiful olde style showa. The reserve grand champion was a kumonyru bred by ( are you seated) me! Moma was a matsukawabake and daddy was kumonryu. I was really shocked. the best I ever did showing was reserve, so to bred one that matched it's accomplishment was really neat. Burt Ballou was head judge and was fun to visit at lunch. B Scott Gould who posts here from holland was at the show so we got to meet after chatting here several years. Plus I got to pick a sanke and kohaku prior to the show from the local dealer for Gene and Phyllis Anderson down from North Idaho Koi Keepers that took a first and second in the show. Was a wonderful day...

Congratulations Dick, Kari and I wished we could have been there.

Congratulations Dick for your RC and to all that were a part of this show. I attended this show a few years ago and it was very well done. Some very nice young koi also. The location is at koi dealer in the middle of a blueberry field. THere was some great food and very nice folks. Hope to make it back before too long and hang around to do some hiking and fishing in the area as part of the trip.

Ray if you do come back and do some hiking and fishing let me know. Will take you into "slide lake" a native cutthroat lake in the cascade that's an hr and a half in and out and lots of fun to fish......

Congratulations Dick on breeding the Reserve Grand Champion. Many of us have been fortunate enough to buy fish that have grown to become Champions, but to actually be the breeder, the creator of a Champion is in a class all in it's own.

THanks Dick I will remember your offer. Nothing quite like hiking into a remote area for a little flyfishing for wild trout.
