Very nice kohaku!

Very nice pattern, but an even better body conformation that is indicative of good growth and jumbo status in the near future. Good frame and bone structure. An overall nice clean koi with good shiroji and beni; no beni on the pecs or dorsal fins (I am envious!). A classic tail stop that is complemented by a very charming and interesting head pattern that will grant a second glance and admiration from any viewer.

One thing I learned from Dick is that one has to look at conformation before pattern and how heavy the beni is when it comes to choosing a potential future champion. Now I know what he was trying to convey ;-)! A very long koi with thick tail tube and large dorsal fins. With more growth the beni will fit really nicely on this koi. Then it will look very imposing.

As far as your concern with this koi bulking up too much during its third year I don't have an answer for it as my knowledge is not that advanced yet. I do know that whatever it is that you are doing, you are doing it right. You are feeding three very good brands of food. I would like very much to see how much this koi will grow by the end of this feeding season.....75cm, or even better yet, 80cm? Wow!

I think that a kind of slender body shape would be better at that age for Hoshikin...but Good luck !!
