Need Help!

I need some help. I have some babies in a 55 gal aquarium. They have all been doing very well until last night. One of them (my fav kohaku) is not interested in food and just lays on the bottom for up to 30 seconds at a time and then swims to another location and does it over and over again. I tested PH levels and they are good. What could be the problem??????

Your not getting much/any feed back , so I'll say what I think .

The very first thing that jumps out at me (from the photos) , is the water looks pretty cloudy ? I would do a 25% water change for 2 or 3 days in a row .

Over feeding/Under Filtering would be my "guess" at this point . How about more info on your water (ph , am. , nit. , etc.)

I wouldn't move the fish (it doesn't need more stress) .

Need more info.... ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, hardness, KH... How long has tank/filter been set up?

My guess is like Headache's. I'd guess the water is not good due to ammonia, perhaps due to immature filter and too much food, resulting in a bacteria bloom clouding the water. But, that is just a guess based on little info. I don't like to guess. It results in a lot of wrong guesses.

If I were you, I maybe quarantine him. With fresh new water, aeration, add salt 0.5 - 0.6% (NOT 5 - 6%, fish die), then heat the water by 80 degrees. No feeding.
*** Be carefull, fish will jump out from quarantine tank ****

Pilau . . .

This board doesn't have a Sick Fish/Pond/Aquarium Forum, so I'd recommend:

KoiVet Message Boards - powered by vBulletin

Register and then read Bonita's sticky at the top of the Sick Fish/Pond Forum.

OR

KoiShack (Powered by Invision Power Board)

Register and then read Karl's sticky at the top of The Critical Care Shack (Emergency).

There are a lot of questions that need to be answered to be able to get at what's going on with your koi and their pond/aquarium -- these boards have experienced moderators and AKCA trained Koi Health Advisors to help guide you through the Q & A process.

While some folks here will no doubt offer some advice, it may or may not be sound. Why gamble with your koi's health?

Best of Luck,
