It looks like they are before and after pictures as the sumi is down in pictures #4 and #5. It seems like it has bulked up a bit as well. Can you give us some more information please?

Hello,
last two pictures were taken by my dealer when the koi arrived at the shop,in october '06.
the sumi was still underneath.
First three pics were taken yesterday. You can see the sumi is starting to come up. The hi has faded a bit because she was kept in an indoor pool untill yesterday.
This is the first time I bought a sff koi. I 'm very curious on how she will develop. My dealer says she will grow in length first and bulk up later. I hope when she bulks up, the large two-step pattern will suit her better.
regards
koen

I think I have two favorite phrases that bring a smile to my face

one is drug commercials that begin "my doctor says "....... and the other is " my dealer says"......

Looks like Kentaro used a parent fish from Toshio as i'm spying a bit of Matsunosuke Gin....." and they grow long and fill in later".....

Humor aside.....It's a very nice looking koi and should be imposing as it gains bulk. I definetely like it!

I asked him about the gin. His answer was that the gin would fade away and become fukurin??? So you could say this is probably a matsunosuke sanke? By looking in the booklet I got with the parentkoi, sakai did use a matsunosuke male for spawning in 2005, so this could be right (female was wakashoryu II).

Amazing what dealers will say when a customer asks questions. I'd prefer him to say he doesn't know rather than gin will turn into fukurin- it strains the credibility and relationship between customer and salesperson. It's OK not to know. Only the breeder knows 'for sure' and then its only a good guess from ground zero. JR
