New Momotaro Bakki Shower

Daisuke said they clean out the media once a year at Momotaro.

Daisuke says they clean it annually? And, that's indoors? ... so much for the infra-red rays.

In my case it is a big job, I took out 2/3 of one top tray and rinsed it. I found leaves and brown slim.

You know what's funny about the stuff...I pulled it off my system, now we're talking about the BH....It was green, brown and all that good stuff...left it out and the BH turned white again within a matter of week...I mean white as in it looked like it never saw water. Weird stuff, but had to admit it did something to my fish...shimes...hahahahaha

I stopped by in Rob' place after the Sacramento combined koi show.
The bakki shower looks very great. Rob has lots of fish inside the pond and all the fish look healthy and the water quality is amazing.

Sorry I haven't updated. I've gotten extremely busy and haven't been able to post any updates. The Bakki Shower has been running for 1 month. The performance has been remarkable for me as I still have my UV off and can still see the bottom of the pond in full sun. I've also upped the feeding and the koi have seemed to take on a new dimension to their shapes that I have not wittnessed in my pond in the past. I'll try to get a new short video of the shower and the pond in action to let everyone see how well it's doing.

Another surprise is I can feed extremely heavy, start to get feces then within a half hour, the pond begins to clear. The other thing that I've noticed is that my sump doesn't have as much feces as well. When I used to feed heavy, the koi would start to act funny (flashing, breaching for air, and really stress out). I no longer have that problem.

Yes I am carrying the media. Daisuke just sent some pictures of 2yr kohaku and sanke going to be auctioned. Here's a sample of kohakus and sankes. Sorry, but I reposted the pics later in this thread so that they may be seen side by side.
