Koi Forums for Beginners?

I just got banned from koipfen.com for not posting since registration. Can anyone recommend koi forums for a novice? Preferrably, a forum that doesn't ban members for lurking and not posting?

Thanks!

Thanks for the warm welcome. This was the first koi forum that I registered. Been lurking all this time because the search feature is such a great tool, and the learning experience and information on this forum is invaluable.

Lots of lurkers around here, which is fine. Some of the members here are so knowledgeable it can seem intimidating for a newbie, but there is much to learn just by searching (as you already have been) and reading along as the experts wax eloquent...
(FYI... I'm not an expert, so some of my "eloquence"is really just be B.S.)

Some discussions are way over my head, but the most important aspect of koi keeping that I learned from this forum, an aspect all of you keep stressing time and time again with great conviction are: patience, maintenance and don't overstock.

I don't have a pond yet. I have a 600 gallon acrylic tank with only 3 fingerlings at 4" that was given to me by a friend when the fingerlings were 2.5" a few weeks ago. I'm taking it slow and will eventually build a pond with high quality kois at very low stocking rates.

First post first Utsuri

Greetings to you all. I am a newbie as well and appreciate this forum.

I am thrilled to be here and learn all the wisdom I can about my new addiction. Can I use that word here?

I just picked up a sweet Gin Rin Hi Utsuri Toasai. I should have got pictures while he was in the tub. He came from Shinoda. I hope I can regain some control over this thing with koi.

Enjoy the weekend!

Lori

I fully agree this is a great koi board. Another good one is KoiShack KoiShack.Com

Becareful of boards where most members are newbies, novices, or others barely into koi keeping. Soon you will believe that bottom drains are optional, gravel is mandatory, and koi can't live without lilies and lotus.

Lurk all you want!!! Our lurking rates are very reasonable.

KP doesn't ban for not posting. I'll be happy to look if you'll give me your sign in name.

Same sign in name as koi-bito.com. I assumed I was banned for lurking because I remembered reading your TOS that members should post and ask questions. I forgot if it was an encouragement or a requirement. When I got banned, I immediately assumed that there was a requirement to participate. Sorry, my mistake.
