What a wonderful and appreciated, as well as, timely - response.

Dear Above,

Thank you for your generous recognition and for your 'timely' response to this past week-ends koi show in Chicago...

Indeed, this past week-ends koi show was a popular show as there was significant local participation, as well as, invitee's (including myself and numerous others) who came quite a distance in order to share in the fun and to particpate...which as we know is what koi shows are all about!

Participation...and, sharing the experience.

Don't you agree?

Yes, I was most fortunate to have won Supreme Grand Champion, as well as, Grand Champion 'B' and a prize for Baby Champion too ~ along with the very popular Ms. Bay Bateman who took home the well deserved Grand Champion Reserve for her own breathtaking Showa.

Please also note that the Cayman Island Koi Club pins which we had available at the Chicago show sold in unexpected huge quantities...with Mr. Dale Torok who is also a member of the Greater Louisville Koi and Goldfish Society assuming responsibility for pins sales and for sending the money to Mr. Doug Dahl in California.

Indeed, I personally designed with the head of our art department and I purchased each pin myself even though we in the Cayman Islands are not subject to KHV...However, we certainly recognise that KHV research requires more funds in order to find a cure. Thus, our club shall donate 100% of the ten dollars USD each pin is sold for to KHV research (plus, $1.00 each for shipping and handling.)

Therefore, in order to become an honourary member of the Cayman Islands Koi Club and to do your personal part in helping to find a cure for KHV...your purchase of a Cayman Island Koi Club pin - could soon itself find the cure which one day saves one of your own beloved fish.

Thus,'please' don't delay - contact Dale Torok today and purchase a Cayman Island Club pin!

...Or, as many pins as we have still remaining available.

Russ, as regards Japan...Yeah, mon, please save a place for me at breakfast as I shall look forward to again seeing you and your pals...

Of particular interest, Russ, the SHOWA I purchased in Japan when we were there together and which won this past week-ends Chicago show - was purchased on one of the mornings when we had sat together over breakfast in Ojiya.

With my best personal regards,

Your pal

Hi Mike!

Mike,

Let me ponder this for awhile...

You do mean Niigata Prefecture in Japan, yes?

Indeed, if so, I too am counting the days and hours...until we are again on our way.

I am happy in many places around the world, but no where am I happier than when in Niigata looking at koi and seeing so many of our friends on the same hunt!

With best regards,

Hey, Russ' very nice gesture!

Dear Russ,

I understand you've ordered two of the Cayman Island Koi Club Pins from Dale. Russ, that's really very generous of you. And, I wanted to personally thank you...for your contribution.

My friend I don't know how many pins we eventually will sell or how much money we will raise by the sale of our pins for KHV research as I know millions of dollars is what really is needed to find the cure; however, I also know that at least each of us are making a personal impact and I think that's just terrific.

Thus, you certainly can wear your Cayman Island Koi Club pin with great pride.

As Dale said at the Chicago Show banquet...becoming a member of the Cayman Island Koi Club can be somewhat difficult, as to become a member all you need to do - is to want to become a member!

It must have been rather funny - when he made his speach, as everyone laughed!

However, I know losing a fish to KHV can't be funny. As it's not a laughing matter. Thus, please spread the word to everyone you know out on the West Coast as we can always use more honorary members in our local club - and, KHV research which these pin sales are going towards may one day even save one of your own fish!

If it does, you will know, you helped save not only your own fish, but thousands and thousand others...

Therefore, please - please, spread the word!

And, help us sell lots more Cayman Island Koi Club pins.

With my best personal regards,

Your pal

Hi Lee,

Word does travel fast in the Koi community. I have a collection of pins from shows that we have been to and I enjoy collecting them. When I heard what you were doing, I thought, the least I could do was to buy a couple of pins. It is very simple as well. Just contact Dale Torok and he can e-mail you an address to send the check to.

I look forward to having the pins and wearing one with pride. I will spread the word the best I can.

Thank you for the kind words.

Russell

TO: Russ Peters

Dear Russ,

In reply to your private email and to others, who might also be interested:

Due to import duties from the Cayman Islands and into the USA and the higher cost of international post...

The CI CLub Pins should be purchased directly from Dale Torok in Lexington Kentucky.

Therefore, if you contact him directly, he will arrange to send them to you...

I am also interested in knowing what pins you have to trade, as I also have many club pins from around the world which I too would like to trade...

All the best,

Your pal,

Lee Aronfeld
