I used to have a 500 gals pond and raccoon was able to catch my fish and ate them after I removed the hyacinths. before that, I know raccoons stopped by during the night because I found hyacinths turned upside down and scattering as if someone was stir them with a big stick. hyacinths are food for pond filteration.

You are right Steve. I guess I will just have to trade off the plant filtration for less of an attraction to the Raccoons. So far things have been quiet the last couple of nights. The pond has steep sides so that should deter them a bit. It is about 1500 gallons and lots of ledges to hind under.

I found this looking into my filter pit under the deck . Does that count as a Predator ? I'm not sure what he was up to .

I don't know..looks kinda suspect to me! Maybe you should have some snapping turtles under there for protection!
