Post your favorite predator photos here

Okay, admittedly, this is a very silly thread to start, but why not?

I recently caught a photo of a great blue heron stalking my sick pond...

I think he has a great body pattern and color, but the body conformation is a bit thin.

A couple of weeks ago, a huge racoon approached my main koi pond in broad daylight, but I didn't get a photo.

I would love to see if anyone has a photo of a heron next to one of those fake heron decoys!

The only predators I have around here are the two legged kind... but they usually don't want to go through the forest to get to my home.

Well actually I do have a opportunistic predator he thinks it's a snack if it jumps out of the pond for him...

My Shiro Utsuri jumped out and he thought it was a snack especially fresh for him *sigh* when I got to it it was still fresh but no head or tail... :-( I would have thought I could have saved it if he didn't eat it.

A Real Heron next to a Brass Heron

He is on the way to the pond in my back yard. Notice the ornamental heron next to him/her/it.

How many of those turtles have you caught, Brady?... Or, are you relocating the same one every month? Time for turtle soup.

I catch 3 or 4 a season in the mud ponds here. These things travel. I think they must talk to each other because they sure know where to come.

Best Wishes,
Brady

Herons & Racoons

I have thought about purchasing one of those realistic heron things. They say they are territorial. I just think it will give me a heart attack every time I look out the window. I am going to just live with the net and the scarecrow sprinkler blast. I chased this mom raccoon and her cubbies out of the yard with a few blasts from the garden home. I thrown out the hyacinth plants because that just seems to scream salad buffet to them. Ugh I hate raccoons.

My only advise...Koi and water gardens don't mix..have one or the other.
