Washington koi and Watergarden show

This weekend in the Pacific northwest is the last show held for the season.
Held in Country Villiage shopping center (bothell/kenmore area of seattle)
the show usually attracts close to 200 koi and is head judged primarily by a japanese breeder. I hope if your anywhere close you'll swing by and visit. I'll be doing a little wrangling for the judges and visiting with friends.

Great way to push for the magazine...I know the folks out at Champion Nishikigoi were giving out issue #1 and #2 for free.

Wish I could go..

But my club is having its pond tour that Saturday, of which I am quite involved in. Some year I will play hookey and go to the show instead.

judges from japan include

Maruyama and Daiinichi, so how much more prestigious can you get. ( thanks Joel! ) The club is raising funds by selling koi supplied by Pan Intercorp, david jensen is the chair for this function this year for koi sales. The weather is suppose to co operate so i hope all will try and make it out this year. Anyone going that's good with a camera that can post here?

Wow! I'd volunteer to help bowl just to have a chance to watch those judges up close.

Dick, Sharon and I would love to attend again this year. Host club is just a great group of people, we had wonderful time last year. I'm pretty sure the judges will find a gem of a koi to crown "Grand Champion" this year, we waited a long time and were totally blown away winning last year! For the record, our winning Kohaku is doing very well, gaining in size and still as beautiful.

Good luck to all,

Dan

Camera Please!!!

I am miserable to be missing the show! The rest of my fish will be there, but it kills me not to see the process, look at the other fish, get those butterflies in my stomach, and then try to gleen any pos/neg comments from the judges about my fish (and others). Sure I will find out if they won anything - but thats just icing.....I WANT THE CAKE TOO!
So, please anyone that can do the pictures and post - maybe I will get a glimpse of mine. What we really need is an open mik or one of those camera phones just to be on while someone is walking around....any takers?

David jensen said he'd take pictures and post....you'll get a general sense of what went on. Maybe someone will read this that can do a moving picture..
