The Shiro/Bekko is not all that great . I don't see the Sumi tightening up on that koi . Not a very good body .

The Kohaku is the best of the two . Congrats on raising the Kohaku from that small size to where it is now . What was the time frame between when it was 6in. to what it is now ? I would suggest you visit the show . Get a good feel of what is involved to show fish . Plus you will have a chance to sizeup the Comp. for showing next year .

Better pics. if you photo them in a blue bowl instead of your hand .

Kohaku is looking good. Big fish pattern, so another 6" or so will make her look even better.
So did you bring this one in to raise, or was it born in your mudpond from your momo pair???

The little Shiro Utsuri is from my momo pair, and the Kohaku I got from a local pet shop in Newnan Ga. I took her to the Atlanta Koi Show when she was about 8 inches if my memory serves me right. She is about 4 years old and has exploded in growth this summer. I thought I would take her out and just give her a good look over. She looks so much better in the pond to me than out. I dont know why but the hi fades every time I take her out of the pond. She is much deeper red when she is not under stress.

The little Shiro Utsuri may never do anything but its a pretty little koi and I want to grow it out and see what it looks like when it gets bigger. The pictures does nothing for the little one's skin, as you know I am not worth a crap when taking pictures. The glare stinks This one will just be a learning experience for me, plus I think it will just look good in someones pond.
