Mike , Your right with both Post . I believe the pond they are in won't be pulled until Monday . Great timing for me , I would think alot of people will be gone .

As far as the pond size needed for growth , They have plenty of space in NJ .

Monday!... My plane reservation is for late Sunday afternoon. I'll miss that pond. But, will be there on Friday to check things out before the crowd arrives. I've gotta get a work 'project' wrapped up in the next month so I can go without worrying over work stuff. I've got 8 coming out of the mud, plus one I hold in trust for HenryC. The anticipation is growing!

I've asked a few questions about Kujaku development over the past several months and never get answers. Seems to be a topic that few if any are willing to speak with assurance. These two are in Pond 28. I think comparing before and after on them will be a good starting lesson.

I really like the first one, but cannot say why. The matsuba is missing, the edges of the Hi are fuzzy, the pattern is unbalanced... but there is something about the 'softness' of it and the satin-like shine that got my attention last May. I passed on buying it, but kept her(?) photo in my file of NKF fish.

The second has the deeper pigment and matsuba scaling the first is missing, but also dark markings on the face. The shine is good, but somewhat different from the first. To my eye, this is a good one, but does not stick in my mind the way the 'looks like a Hariwake' does.

I hope both have grown tremendously and show their respective characters well at the harvest.
