Washington koi and watergarden results

Chris C who posts here took GC with a beautiful Sanke. She also took firsts with a nisei koi farm ochibas, the smaller of the 2 was Gin Rin ( from Ochiba Monday). About 180 plus fish. fastest show I ever saw judged. AKCA,
no longer candidate, but first show as full fledged judge Tom Ayers provided a stellar performance. It was good to see Ron Goforth (ZNA)there as well. One of the students at my seminar was part of the crowd who picked a people's choice award and said what I taught at Tosai selection was helpful Manu-san from Dainichi and Maruyama-san rounded out the all star judging platform aptley interpreted by Joel from pan Intercorp. The event was covered in great detail by Koi Fixx and will certainly appear in the next installment. Weather was great and everything went quite smoothly. When I
was at the wrangler's meeting was handed a small canister of hand disinfectant that looked and acted like a can of shaving creme. Pretty quick and handy! Were lots of ohotos taken while I was working so hope they get posted here after the banquet or tomorrow. neat Show!

More pics please.

How big was the GC and is that a rather large tear in the tail fin?

GC was in size 7, which is over 25 inches in our show. Not sure how much bigger, but I would say closer to 28 inches, I was not there when she was benched.

The angle of the photo is weird, she does not have a tear in her tail, but the photo sure looks like she does!

My wild asagi, gift from asagi-master Dick B, however, managed to porpoise his way out of the tank for the second year in a row, and cause a panic to put him back in. His only evident injury was a split in HIS tail fin. Still got a first! Thankfully, the judges saw him do it.

Kim, if you are reading, you placed with four fish. I meant to write it down specificially, but I can let you know tomorrow. Either two or three were firsts!!

Thanks all for the warm congratulations--it's been a fun day!

Chris-your beautiful Sanke looks great, last years mature champion pulls down GC this year!

Enjoyed your open house this past August and had a sneak preview of your Sanke enjoying life in the mountains. There is no doubt about it, your Sanke looked great this summer and looks great in these photos from the show. You really took great care of her, "she had at cold at last years show folks", congratulations to a true koi kichi!

Dick, moving is going well but would have rather been at the show.
