Received my new Ogata Ginrin Kohaku today!!

Well...I appreciated all the coments and opinions I was given here(which were mixed!!!) and I decided to go with my gut. I received my 18-19inch female ogata ginrin kohaku today. These are the new pics I have taken of her. They were taken indoors with a flash. I normally shoot outdoors in natural sunlight. She is now happily swimming in my quarantine pool. I am very happy with the purchase. My big concern was the quality of the ginrin....which is much better live than in the pictures I posted earlier. The conformation seems good and I am crazy about the pattern. Thanks for all the help I was given here!!! Comments are welcome...fire away!!

NICE! I really like this fish. She has a nice face and that little orange on the nose is cute. The Ginrin shows up pretty well in the pictures. I hope she grows out nicely for you. My Ginrin Kohaku doesn't have near the sweet pattern yours does...jealous

Bob . . .

Congrats and best wishes.

Keeping us posted would be much appreciated since this koi generated quite a bit of interest & discussion in the other thread.

I had to look at your GinRin Kohak for awhile. I have come to the conclusion that I would have to see the GinRin effect in person and in the sun to give you my opinion. High quality GinRin is consistant in direct and uniform in it's fray effect with sunlight hits it.

Skin quality is okay, but the condition of the skin is consist enough to condition to get whiter.

Beni is okay too, but would honestly ask you in your eyes is the beni persimmon or kagura red? The flash of the camera looks to give an unevenness to it and what type of beni it is.

Comformation is good now, but the shoulders gives me a werid sense that the fish will grow big and stubby for the future.

Other than that, I think this fish will be a good study of conditioning in the coming years.

I gotta say I've never really been fond of how gin rin looks on patterned fish. I love it on single colored fish however!

But I do think this is one of the nicer GR kohakus I've seen a picture of. You should get a lot of enjoyment from it!
