Graham, you are absolutely correct.... if you and your friend Stan are Canadians, and you bought your CI pins last year, you are the first Canadians to purchase Cayman Island Koi Club pins. I didn't know that because I only have my memory of people who have handed me a ten dollar bill to buy a pin at several koi shows. That memory includes a lot of faces, but is missing a lot of names! And I didn't have a clue where most were from. A LOT of people are not on the list I put up earlier in this thread for that simple reason. I think you bought your pin from Lee at a show I did not attend. Is that right? I DO have an accurate list of everyone who has mailed a payment to me that I have shipped pins to.... those are most of the people on the list.

So now we know of FOUR Canadians who have dual citizenship in koi clubs Canadian and Caymanian! Are there any more out there?

Thank you for your support!

Does anyone on KB know Dave and Millie Andrews in the koi hobby?

I received this email at my regular email address, which has been given out several places about the Cayman Islands Koi Club pins:

Dale,
We would lke to join Lee Aronfeld in his effort to support KHV research and have our own Cayman Islands Koi Club Pins, if possible we would like the 2007 and 2008 pins. Let us know how we need to proceed. Thank you. Dave and Millie Andrews

Both Lee and I have replied to this email and it is always returned as undeliverable. I am sure Dave & Millie are wondering why I have not gotten back to them, but all replies are returned and I don't have a clue where they are.

Can anyone help me get in touch with them?

Thanks!

There hasn't been much activity on this thread, but I just wanted to let the Koi Bito members know that I continue to get orders for pins, so those orders are coming from people who either see this offer here or read the article about Lee's fund raising efforts in the current Koi USA magazine. Each pin sold increases the Cayman Islands Koi Club donation to KHV reasearch by 10 dollars.

Just this past Friday I sent pins to Michael E. DeGrandpre in the great state of Washington and an order for six pins is going out today to Mr. Trevor Brown in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. We now have several honorary members of the Cayman Island Koi Club in Canada!

Since sending a donation for $2,000.00 from the sale of the first 200 pins to the AKCA KHV research project, I have sent 27 pins to koi hobbyists, so there is $270.00 in the fund toward the next donation.

Thank you Carrie! The response has really been great. I received emails this past week with orders for some of the new 2008 pins and three of the 2007 pins, which leaves only ONE 2007 Cayman Islands Koi Club pin left. The next person that orders a 2007 pin will get the last one available.

Any takers for the last 2007 pin? You can contact me at dtorok@time-plus.com.

Plenty of the 2008 pins are available with your full purchase price of $10.00 donated to KHV research by Lee Aronfeld and the Cayman Islands Koi Club!

Thank all of you for your support of this fund raiser.

Louisville Koi Show

Lee Aronfeld has attended the Louisville Koi Show for the past two years. This weekend makes it three. He and his wife Sheila are flying to Kentucky tomorrow to attend the show. This will be my 6th show in a row and the 4th that I will be showing fish. The Louisville show just keeps getting bigger, better and is attracting more serious hobbyists every year.

If you are attending the show and haven't before, you are in for a real treat! A wonderful setting with Charles and Carolyn Phelps the gracious hosts dishing out Southern Hospitality on their beautiful property. It is one of those "you have to be there" places to truly appreciate.

If you haven't yet joined Lee's effort to help support KHV research by buying a Cayman Islands Koi Club pin, both Lee and I will have 2008 pins available for $10.00 each with the full sale price donated to the KHV research project. The 2007 pins are all sold out.

It is rumored that Mulberryjen will be at the show looking to see if any Koi Bito mambers remember her!

Hope to see YOU there!

Dale-

I probably should have picked up some pins to sell at the Indy show this weekend.

I happened to stumble on this post while searching the Net for something else. The first time I met Lee was at the Potomac ZNA show this past weekend. I was honored to walk into the awards banquet with this humble man, (after he caught me changing in the parking lot ).

KHV is on joke and i'm in full support of his efforts. Do you have any from last year? If so i'll take 2 from last year, and 2 for 2008.

Regards,
Walt
