Question about Divisions at Sacramento Koi Show

I was just reading the Entrant's Packet and really like how the Divisions are set up between Open, Novice and Dealer. I also noticed that there was a Grand Champion in each Division. My question is: Will the Three Grand Champions Compete Against Each Other for the top winner? Or are they all separate?

Hi Marie,

Right now we do not intend on having the three different divisions compete against each other. Are you going to bring one of your Koi to the show, say one of Richard's breedings?

I think they are separate...But it would be nice to see a "Supreme" Champion, since in some UK/European show's dealers are allowed to compete aganist hobbyist.

I don't think so, Steve. I'm still not set up to transport. If I did, I'd be bringing two tosai Kohaku of Richard's (pearl gin and other) since they're smaller and easier to handle for the "first timer's experience." But I don't see it happening.

I am, however, bringing some stock of my digital art for PSKoi, and all of the SJKohaku's will be represented in the selections there. So in a sense, I'm bringing them all...

The variety of categories at this show in all three divisions are just great and well thought out, and I commend Camellia Koi Club for such mindfulness. Maybe when the show is over, pics could be posted of the three GC's and we can have our own amateur Koi Bito judging of who was the best koi in the show and discuss all the points of each for fun and educational purposes.

Hey! Is it really too late to make reservations for the Banquet?

Looking forward to the show--I just know it's going to be great,

Marie

Hi Marie,

I am not certain about the finality of the reservations, but can find out. The banquet is being held off site as you are aware and I know that they needed a head count for the caterering folks.
