who's going to Nisei Koi farm this Oct

I've been to the drainage in japan and in New jersey, and while the experiences are not exactly the same, the anticipation of seeing your koi come out of the mud is just as satisfying.

I think for some, getting overseas is not an option but for making it to new Jersey, presents another opportunity to be involved in what Koi Kichi's all over the world look forward to at this time of year.

So as an alternative to going to Japan, who's off to See Mat, Jen, Ross, Tara, Bob and company.......

Dick, I'll be there for sure. Last year was my first visit. It was a great experience in every way... koi overload, plus great comaraderie, conversation and food! I'd not miss it. And this year I have a few being harvested that I'm really excited to see. There's a reason so many attending fly in from across the country for the whole weekend. Flight cost etc may inhibit folks, but anyone within a couple hours drive is really missing out on an extraordinary experience that costs them only gasoline. (Of course, there is the risk of not being able to pass on a gem. )

I got hooked on this place only 9 months ago , so I guess you could still call me a rookie . I'm doing everything I can to make this trip happen . I would love to watch my girl come out of that deep muddy water !

One question : What Hotel are they suggesting the group stay at ? I don't remember were I stayed in Dec. , but it was only around 15/20 min. away ?

DH and I have been very curious about this farm and are considering coming down. What are the planned dates? Hotels? Directions? Any details that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Red face Just call me jealous...

I would really love to get in on one of these one day... but scheduling is a train wreck.
I'll make myself fell better by helping Jesus pull his in the next few weeks and going to the Downs' pond pull in November
