Interesting how Japanese stock can produce beautiful fish in Japan, but when you bring them here and breed them here, you get domestics of a lesser quality. Never have been able to understand that phenomina.

Answer later on tonight, as I have a spray job to take care of early this AM.

Yes they are fish that are sold through Blue Ridge. To be exact, the breeders are Rick Brown and Andre Bukin. But they market most if not all of their fish through Blue Ridge.

For those of you that dont know, it has been a long several years since the massive depopulation of the fish farms there at Blue Ridge. Their breeding programs had been set back 25-30 years or more.

I am tickled that Randy and company are getting back to producing nice fish again.

The offspring are the same here as they are in Japan. The severity of the culling (or lack thereof) makes the difference.

Daniel . . .

Important as it is, culling would only be one of the factors involved.

Others would include:

1. A multi-generational matrix of knowledge and experience;
2. Regional, National and International network of breeders and dealers;
3. Government support for the industry;
4. Ideal water (and knowing how to use it);
5. Utimate broodstock;
6. International customer base; and finally,
7. Volume, Volume, Volume.
