Worst day of my life!

I woke up 7:00 my cell phone lost its batteries so my alarm didnt work. (didnt charge), had to catch a bus at 7:10. Missed it. Sister didnt wake me up (really mean sister)
Was very bummed out about that and thought the day could not go worse...
It did...

I went home still very upset. I look out the window at the pond. the pond has 6 inches of water in it. the fish are swimming, all but 3 are alive. Luckily no expensive ones are dead.
We were putting in 5 jets in the pond, and we live on a hill, so I put a siphon to siphon some water out, it worked all nice and good then. when I went to stop it I pulled the hose out and waited for it to suck air so it would stop. stupid me, I didnt realize there was still water in the lower part of the hose, so the instant I put the hose back in it kept sucking water out. I didnt notice this because the hose was so small, and it was dark.
So, I wake david up. he gets pissed, and starts yelling at me. He cools down and says its not my fault. so yea.
moral of the story, dont leave a hose in the pond that is sucking water out!
Eek.
Now we have to fill the pond up...Slowlyyyyy so there is minimal shock.
AHhh!

well thanks for letting me vent koi-bito.
now its off to a water polo game for me to play in..
ehh cold....

If this is your worst day . . .

you obviously have had a very short life. I hope that this is, indeed, your worst day. Believe me, it can get much worse.

Ah Yeah..I was just reading this and wishing it was my worst day. LOL...to be young again. Trust me Lildude..you'll laugh about this one in the future. I can't even count the number of times I flooded and siphoned things!!! I'll make you laugh...about 7 years ago I was doing a water change on a saltwater fish tank. I filled my 5 gallon buckets with salt water and began to walk across my kitchen, The bucket just completely cracked in half sending 5 gallons of saltwater across my kitchen floor. Well.. it gets worse. The saltwater runs down any little seam in the floor opening into the basement(I thought) . Unfortunately..The opennings it drained down were above my garage. The was my new Saab covered in 5 gallons of saltwater. Completely ruined the paint...didn't even know that could happen!!! I can honestly say if my wife had a gun that day...I would not be typing to you now..lol!! Well... we just laugh about it now

Scary... Yes. Been there, done that.
Worst day ever??? Count yourself lucky Eric. No fatalities, just a lot of aggravation and education. The only loss is the extra money on the water bill
BTW, my pond is designed so that the pump will break suction if the water level drops too low. Saved my butt (and my fish) more than once

Eric,
Can you compare that to what to my pond the other night. Just take it easy. Everything happens for a reason.

Ah. Well, the worst day of my life wasnt so bad afterall. Everything leveled off again and was groovy. Today the 30th, I was surprised by my whole entire family at my house for a surprise bday party. It was very nice to see everyone there, Family and friends.
The pond is ok, we finished putting in the jets. and filled in the trenches. The pond is nearing more to completion, but it still has ways to go.

You are all right, my worst day is yet to come. i hope it doesnt happen anytime soon.
