Tsutomu Takeda passes on...

I have been informed today that Mr Tsutomu Takeda has passed away. He was a gentleman as well as an accomplished breeder...not to mention one of my greatest teachers in nishikigoi.

Although I've yet to confirm the news, this is a sad an unfortunate development in the koi world. His loss will be mourned greatly.

Moved this to the general forum as I don't think that people were actually seeing it.

Sorry to hear that too Brian.

Would you be prepared to write an obituary for him?
We could then cut and paste it into our various Newsletters and Natioanal magazines so that the Koi World knows.

Sorry to receive the news

But grateful to know. So thank-you Brian for letting us know. And for volunteering to write something for all koi kichi's both new and old to better understand the
contribution this great man played in helping our hobby to develop and flourish. It's at times like these that the words from a Simon and Garfunkle song "old friends",
come back to remind me...."preserve your memories, they're all that's left you".

This certainly came as bad news a few days ago. Another breeder told me of President Takeda's death on the 4th, as I had 'a good relationship with him'. I have to say, Takeda-san was in my top three 'favourite people in Japan', as he had always done so much to look out for me. I know that he was also one of Brian's 'most admired' breeders too. Brian and I first went there together back in 2000, and Brian and Takeda-san hit it off straight away. Takeda-san had to be the most respected breeder I had the pleasure of meeting. If he went to a Koi Show, other breeders would bow to him as if he were a King. In my book, he was! I put a news item up on my site a few days ago, for those that are interested. Brian ia a man of great words though, and I am sure he can do Takeda-san better justice.

Mike.

Eric go to Mike's web page and read the memorial

You'll find out what Mike and Brian both know....keep learning japanese so as a koi person you can communicate.

Mike thanks for your fitting words. It was a touching story about his gift to you. I too hope they fulfill both of your dreams as a fitting tribute to the man
and his gift to the hobby.

Looking forward to reading Brian's remarks.....

Wow that is just amazing! Takeda sensei is really endowing a blessing on mike that none have really ever seen.

When you are gone and if you have lived your life well. Your legacy shall never die.
